Pepijn van Hulst

Pepijn van Hulst was born on December 25, 1978 in Amsterdam.
Pepijn has been performing all his life. In his younger years he could entertain his family at parties with shows full of magic tricks and playback numbers, with which he won first prize at the age of 8 during a playback competition with the song 'Krijg alle de kolere' by Ciske de Rat. Ciske was Pepijn's favorite childhood film. But there were actually several, because Pepijn loved watching films and was very impressed by the actors he saw play, such as Robert de Niro. Becoming a film actor was something he dreamed of….
During his high school age, he was also able to develop as a rapper under the stage name Ugly Dugly. But at the same time he was a regular at the video store and devoured films in which he sometimes saw great actors pass by.
After secondary school, Pepijn opted for the PABO, because working with children gave him great satisfaction. But during this study he also got the Drama course. His teacher inspired him and Pepijn was even allowed to play the leading role in his final performance: VIER.
After a year as a teacher in front of the class, Pepijn knew for sure: he wanted to act.
He stopped teaching and decided to study acting.
After taking the acting course De Trap, Pepijn gained a lot of experience with camera acting because he was much in demand for commercials, but at the same time he also wanted to develop further as a film actor and he followed masterclasses with Halina Reijn and Monic Hendrickx, among others.
Two children later, despite this wealth, Pepijn experienced an emptiness in the field of work: he wanted more than commercials. What really makes him happy is telling beautiful, recognizable stories by playing an interesting character. The challenge of playing a character role gives him more satisfaction than playing a father who buys something in a store and is very happy with it.
That process gives Pepijn the feeling that he can really give something to the viewing audience, as Pepijn has experienced himself by seeing beautiful films and series. All facets of a film that come together to the final result and that you are part of it, that seems to Pepijn the best thing there is, it couldn't be better, could it?

I can very easily and naturally control and change the expression in my face (and body). I also have a good sense of timing. I also have a feeling for rhythm and music.
I am also a father of 2 children and have experience teaching children between the ages of 4 and 12.
Finally, I think I can contribute to a pleasant working atmosphere on set.
