‘Disney vooral grote concurrent van cable-tv’'
Netflix presented its expectations for the coming years last week. It is striking that Netflix is not concerned about the new SVOD platforms from Apple and Disney. It is expected that cable companies in particular will have to worry about these new online video platforms. Disney will offer its video service in combination with the popular sports platform ESPN and Hulu. The latter is a kind of NLZIET, where consumers can watch about 70 live channels from ABC, CBS, NBC, National Geographic and Fox, among others. It is in fact a 'power combination' that makes a cable subscription (average price $85 per month) no longer necessary for American households. It has already been announced that Disney will offer its Disney+ service for a competitive monthly price of $6.99 ($69.95 per year), making its entire Disney film collection available.
