NRC reports that the NPO director, together with his brother, purchased an English letterbox company in 2011, the shares of which were placed in a tax haven. According to NRC, this construction kept his brother's creditors at bay. They would not have been able to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars that they were owed after the bankruptcy of two of the brother's restaurants. The construction is also used to avoid Dutch tax.
