On Saturday April 27, MAX will broadcast a special episode of the Netherlands on film on NPO 2 at 7:35 PM, presented by Richard Groenendijk. The programme, which is composed entirely of amateur film material from the twentieth century, focuses on the celebration of Queen's Day. Throughout the era of the amateur film camera, the Netherlands had a queen as head of state: Wilhelmina was succeeded by her daughter Juliana, who then handed over the throne to Beatrix. At regular times, such as on Queen's Day, during enthronements and royal anniversaries, the queen was cheered by the Dutch people.
