The TV advertising market generated a total turnover of 821 million last year. An increase of 3 percent compared to 2017. In that year, TV advertising turnover fell by 5.2 percent. This is evident from the TV Annual Report 2018 from TV marketing organization Screenforce. Viewing time fell by 2 percent in 2018, a decline that was lower than in previous years. The total viewing time in 2018 was 173 minutes. Delayed viewing increased to 17 minutes per day (9.8 percent of total viewing time). There is mainly delayed viewing of foreign films, Dutch series, game and quiz programs and talent shows. Sports and news and current affairs programs are most often watched live.
