This summer, Youtube Premium was introduced in the Netherlands. For 12 euros per month, the user gets access to YouTube Originals, Youtube Music and all videos no longer have advertising pre-rolls. However, this formula is now largely abandoned and replaced by advertising support. According to sources, YouTube Premium has not generated the expected revenue. A large part of the YouTube Originals library, including films and TV series, will be offered for free including advertising from next year. The American news site The Verge reports that YouTube would like to reduce its budget for the production of original content.
