The Dutch comedy won four awards at the Glendale International Film Festival, which tries to bring foreign films to the attention of American viewers. Language Is Saying But Really My Thing won the statuettes for best film, best leading actress (Fockeline Ouwerkerk), best director and best film made by a woman.
