Paramount has issued a statement in which the film studio strongly supports its film mother! to stand. The company responded to the very mixed reactions that the horror film evoked from critics last week. “This film is bold and brave,” Paramount boss Megan Colligan said in the statement. “It was made by a director at the height of his powers, just like lead actress Jennifer Lawrence. Everyone wants to see more original films, and everyone praises Netflix for telling stories that have never been told. This is our answer to that. Not all films have to be safe. And it's okay if some people don't like the result at all."
